A Word from Mom

"Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding.." Prov 3:5.

Brian's and my faith and trust in the Lord was put to the test 2 weeks ago when Braxton arrived. It was such a devastating feeling to know that we had no control over Braxton's recovery, that we couldn't "fix the problem", that we could not hold him and love on him to comfort him. But we trust in a wonderful amazing God who listens to our every request and desire. Although we couldn't hold him, God had Braxton in his arms the entire time! Braxton recovered very quickly from the respiratory distress and should not have any resulting health problems.

Over 24 hours after delivery, we were finally allowed to touch and hold our sweet baby boy. I remember thinking how amazing and miraculous it is that we created him. Even so amazing is that we serve a God that cares for us, calms our fears, comforts our hearts, and listens to our prayers. Our trust and faith has grown.

Now that we are home, God is testing our patience :).

Uncle J and Cousin AK Visit

Uncle J and Anna Katherine got to come by Monday (12/14) and hang out for a while. Unfortunately, Lil B was having a fussy day and didn't want to play. He slept for most of the visit but did get up towards the end and let everyone see him. J did get to burp him (notice the similarities in the hair in those pics).

Gran

Gran finally got to come visit this past Sunday (12/12). Hopefully it feels "real" to her now since she had the chance to hold him. She also had the chance to change his diaper. After she bragged about raising four boys and only being peed on once, Braxton showed her how impeccable timing is one of his fortes. Yes, he got her. Mimi & Daddy G Visit

Here are some pics from Mimi and Daddy G's visit. Daddy G had to leave for his own surgery and wasn't here during the delivery but surprised us by showing up the following Tuesday (day Lil B was released).

Braxton Hospital Pics

Here are some of the pics taken during Braxton's stay at Brookwood. He was born on 12/2/09 at 3:32 pm. He had a rough transition and was admitted to the NICU. Lil B recovered quickly and was released the night of 12/8/09. He is at home and doing great.
